This program is designed to provide a first step for young people to learn and get involved in the Thoroughbred horse industry. Youth and young adults can apply to be paired with an equine industry expert. Matches are designed to encourage mentees to learn about the Thoroughbred horse industry and develop an understanding of its nuances; teach important skills and knowledge needed to pursue a job or career, and facilitate meaningful conversations between experienced professionals and young people about the realities of employment in the Thoroughbred horse industry.
-
Amplify Junior invites children 12 and under and their parents and guardians to learn about horses and connect with the Thoroughbred horse racing industry through interactive educational tours and pop-up events. This is a new program that we are continuing to develop and adapt!

From Lexington, Kentucky to Saratoga Springs, New York, Amplify invites youth and young adults ages 13-25 to explore the Thoroughbred industry and contemplate equine careers through immersive tour experiences.
In Kentucky, Amplify hosts equine career discovery days with the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP) Foundation. Participants have the opportunity to visit a variety of equine facilities and businesses in the Bluegrass region and speak directly with industry professionals about the trajectories they took to reach their positions. Topics include equine transportation, equine event planning, breeding, horse sales, veterinary medicine, racing, and more.
In New York, students learn what it takes to make a day of racing possible at one of the most storied racetracks in the country with Amplify’s Experience Saratoga Student Horse Racing Tours. The all-day experiences begin on the backstretch with morning training, visiting a trainer’s barn, speaking with a veterinarian, discussing racehorse aftercare, and learning about racetrack maintenance. After a break for lunch, participants reconvene for live racing, where they learn how to read a racing program while watching horses saddle in the Saratoga paddock, visit the silks room, and hear from additional presentations including the racing office, communications department, and more.
-
Inaugurated in 2022, this event gathers industry newcomers, young professionals, and field experts for a night of networking and learning about careers with horses. The event opens with snacks and friendly mingling that leads into an educational panel presentation before attendees are split into groups for small table discussions. All are welcome to expand their professional networks and make new friends with common interests!
-
Not everyone has access to a horse farm or racetrack, so Amplify brings the racetrack to YOU through our virtual Horse Racing Hangouts. These virtual workshops are live-streamed to Amplify’s social media channels and feature Thoroughbred industry professionals teaching fundamental knowledge and skills required to understand the horse racing industry. Participants can interact live with expert guests.

Amplify believes that when kids and families visit a racetrack, they should feel a connection with the horses. From building a racetrack in a test tube to touching tack and horse feed, and even learning to ride a racehorse, Amplify can coordinate activities for any racetrack family day.
Find us in April and October at Keeneland’s Kids Club Family Day, where Keeneland Kids Club members and their families are invited to enjoy a special day at the races. Contact us today if you want Amplify to activate at your racetrack’s Family Day!
-
Amplify is ready to activate at racetrack college scholarship days, answering students’ questions about the Thoroughbred industry, conducting behind-the-scenes paddock and winner’s circle tours curated to each racetrack, and offering career advice.
Find Amplify on-site at Keeneland’s spring and fall College Scholarship Days, and contact us if you want to amplify your racetrack’s college day!

Amplify Horse Racing is a young, growing organization. We could be at BreyerFest in Lexington, Kentucky one day, presenting to a classroom the next, and hosting a pop-up activity at the Saratoga Community booth the following week! Subscribe to our newsletter for notifications about upcoming events, and follow our calendar for details and registration.

"One of the best things about mentorships is that the mentors and mentees can both get a lot out of the experience. For the mentee, it is about guidance and connections that will further their careers. The mentor gets fresh perspectives on the industry and a tremendous amount of fulfillment when their mentee succeeds."
-Jordyn Egan, Executive Director of the Thoroughbred Owners of California, Amplify Mentor and Board Member
