Sam F. Davis Stakes (G3)

Inaugurated in 1981, the Sam F. Davis Stakes is a 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-olds and a local prep for the Tampa Bay Derby (G2). Upgraded to Grade 3 status in 2009, it became part of the Road to the Kentucky Derby in 2017, awarding 20 qualification points to the winner. The race has produced multiple Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes contenders, with a purse currently set at $250,000.
