Horse Care and Retraining Internship

New Vocations is the largest racehorse adoption program in the country. The program truly understands the importance of education and is happy to work with local colleges in offering internship opportunities to qualified students. Internships give students a chance to work directly with a New Vocations facility and gain experience working within all areas of the program.        

Horse Care and Training Internship: This internship at our Lexington, KY, facility provides students a chance to work directly with the care and training of the horses in the program.  This position works with the facility manager/trainer and assists in any work involved in caring for as well as the retraining of the horses.  This includes stall cleaning, turnout, grooming, tacking, longeing, some riding, basic first aid, and any daily facility tasks. There may be other assorted duties to help prepare for events.
